Calm Your Body, Calm Your Mind

This 4-week course is an invitation to slow down, listen, and begin to

understand your body in a new way.

We will explore both body-based (somatic) and mindful practices, sometimes called bottom-up and top-down approaches, grounded in neuroscience and guided with care.

Rather than pushing through or overriding what you feel, we gently turn toward the body with curiosity and care.

Through the lens of the nervous system and the vagus nerve, you’ll begin to recognise that many of the sensations you experience — tension, anxiety, exhaustion, overwhelm — are not problems to fix, but signals from a body that has been working hard to protect you.

When we meet these signals with awareness and compassion, something begins to shift.

Do You Recognise Yourself Here?

• Feeling tired but wired, unable to fully rest
• Pushing through, even when your body is asking you to slow down
• Feeling anxious, tense, or constantly “on edge”
• Carrying tightness or discomfort that doesn’t fully release
• Experiencing stress, burnout, or low energy
• Not quite feeling like yourself

These are not flaws
They are patterns your nervous system has learned in order to keep you going.

The Body’s Wisdom

Your body is not working against you
It is communicating with you

When stress builds over time, the body can remain in protective states — holding tension, staying alert, or shutting down.

This course offers a gentle way to begin supporting your nervous system so it can shift out of constant stress and into a state of greater ease, rest, and repair.

The Nervous System Lens

Your nervous system is always responding to what it perceives as safe or unsafe.

At times this can look like:
fight, flight, freeze, or feeling disconnected

By working with the body through breath, movement, and awareness, we can begin to support the vagus nerve — the pathway that helps bring the body back to calm, connection, and balance.

You’ll learn to understand your body not as something to control,
but something to work with.
