VENUE:

Tree House Wellness Centre, Urangan
A safe, quiet and welcoming space for healing.

A gentle, evidence-informed 8-week therapeutic program integrating Yoga Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory and nervous system regulation to support recovery from trauma, anxiety and chronic stress.

Is this you?

Do you...

  • feel anxious or constantly on edge?

  • struggle to relax or switch off?

  • feel overwhelmed by everyday life?

  • find yourself stuck in fight, flight, freeze or shutdown?

  • feel disconnected from your body?

  • want practical tools to feel calmer and more in control?

If so, you're not alone.

Your nervous system may simply be doing exactly what it learnt to do to keep you safe.

Why Yoga Therapy for Trauma?

Trauma affects far more than our thoughts. It can change the way our nervous system responds to the world, leaving us feeling anxious, hyper vigilant emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected.

Recovery isn't about forcing yourself to "move on."

It's about helping your body rediscover safety.

When your nervous system begins to feel safe again, your body becomes more available for connection, healing and growth.

The Science of Safety

One of the most important discoveries in trauma research is that healing happens through safety.

This course integrates Applied Polyvagal Theory, which helps us understand how the autonomic nervous system constantly scans for cues of safety or danger.

At the centre of this system is the vagus nerve—the primary communication pathway between the brain and body.

When we feel safe, the vagus nerve supports:

  • calm breathing

  • emotional regulation

  • social connection

  • digestion

  • rest and recovery

When we experience trauma or prolonged stress, our nervous system can become stuck in patterns of protection such as fight, flight, freeze or shutdown.

Rather than trying to "fix" ourselves, this course gently supports the nervous system to experience safety again through movement, breath, co-regulation, meditation and embodied awareness.

An Evidence-Informed Approach

This program integrates:

✔ Yoga Therapy

✔ Somatic Therapy

✔ Applied Polyvagal Theory

✔ Nervous System Regulation Tools

✔ Breathwork

✔ Learning to meditate instead of activate

✔ Compassionate Inquiry-informed principles

✔ Contemporary Neuroscience

Together these approaches support greater regulation, resilience and self-awareness.

What Makes this Course Different?

This isn't a general yoga class.

Every practice has been carefully selected to support people recovering from trauma, chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation.

Classes are:

• Trauma-informed

• Invitation-based

• Small and supportive

• Suitable for beginners

• Focused on regulation rather than performance

There are no expectations to push through discomfort.

Participants are encouraged to work within their own capacity, creating the conditions for lasting change.

Important Details

  • Course duration: 8 weeks

  • Pre-registration is essential. After you book, I'll contact you for a brief conversation to answer any questions and ensure the course is the right fit for your needs.

  • Small group. Limited places available. Numbers are intentionally kept low to create a safe, supportive and contained learning environment.

  • No previous yoga experience is required. All practices are gentle, trauma-informed and can be adapted to your individual needs.

  • No physical adjustments. There are no hands-on assists. Everyone remains on their own mat and in their own space throughout the course.

  • No group sharing. This is not a group therapy or group sharing program. There is no expectation to talk about your personal experiences or share your story. The focus is on learning practical nervous system regulation tools through movement, breath, meditation and embodied awareness in a private, respectful and supportive environment.

How the Course works

Healing happens gradually.

Each class follows a therapeutic rhythm of movement, breath, stillness and rest.

Participants learn to gently move between activation and settling while remaining connected to a sense of safety.

Over time this helps develop:

  • nervous system flexibility

  • emotional resilience

  • self-awareness

  • body awareness

  • confidence in self-regulation

As safety grows, carefully selected therapeutic yoga sequences help release accumulated stress and support healthy nervous system functioning.

What You'll take Away

By the end of the course many participants report:

✔ feeling calmer

✔ sleeping better

✔ understanding their nervous system -flight/fight/freeze/fawn

✔ feeling more connected to their body

✔ responding rather than reacting

✔ having practical tools they continue using every day

✔ feeling a felt sense of safety

What Participants Say

"I was so impressed by this course that I attended it last year. Lucinda is kind, gentle and incredibly knowledgeable. I felt safe in every class and noticed the benefits within the first few weeks. After living with PTSD for 15 years, the tools I learnt have helped me overcome debilitating panic attacks. I cannot recommend this course highly enough."

"I came to the course feeling exhausted, anxious and disconnected from myself.  Week by week, I noticed small but meaningful changes. I felt calmer, slept more deeply and finally understood why my body responded the way it did. The practices were gentle, practical and easy to continue at home. This course gave me more than relaxation—it gave me a new relationship with my nervous system and a renewed sense of hope."— Donna,  Newcastle
